KEY WEST, Fla. (March 26, 2012) — Movie producers for the suspense thriller “Exposure” starring Corey Feldman announced this week that they’ll be filming on location at Pat Croce’s pirate-themed Rum Barrel Restaurant/Bar on Friday from 4 p.m.
And Key Westers will have the chance to appear in the movie–the movie director and camera crew will be screen-testing candidates who want to appear as extras or possibly have a small speaking part in future scenes, said Gary Metz, executive vice-president at Destination Television, Inc.
“We’re excited to be able to film this movie here, to show the rest of the world what we have to offer in Key West and to give locals the chance to be a part of it,” said Rum Barrel general manager JC Picco.
Croce’s Island Dogs Barnearby was also selected as a shooting location for establishing shots to set the scene of the movie and to screen would-be actors. Filming will take place there on Thursday.
The movie highlights several South Florida locations, but Island Dogs and the Rum Barrel Restaurant/Bar at 528 Front Street are the only Keys location announced so far. The bars will receive all content filmed on location, which can be used for print or TV advertising, producers say.
“‘Exposure’ showcases South Florida while shining a much-needed light on the dangers of the unregulated modeling industry,” according to the film’s website.
Feldman and Spike TV’s Ali Sonoma play a couple from small-town Alabama, who answer an ad seeking models in South Florida. Despite VIP treatment upon their arrival, things take a turn for the worse when models go missing.
